One of the glorious things about the city of Ashland is that it is nestled amongst beautiful natural settings, all walking distance from down town. Meandering through our famous Lithia Park, or along our extensive bike trails will instantly connect you with the pristine beauty of the Southern Oregon wilderness. Our town's natural habitat boasts a wide diversity of wildlife. You will, of course, see the local deer in town within hours of your arrival (please don’t feed them or approach them- they are so cute, but remember they are wild). Our very own Ashland pond has resident blue herons, otters and even a few beavers. The beautiful Bear Creek, which the bike trail travels along side, has a host of natural life, including bobcats, foxes, spectacular seasonal salmon runs and… our very favorite… the glorious Red-Tailed Hawk. These majestic birds grace our skies every day, soaring in the wind and diving amongst the trees. Red-Tail Hawks are the perfect blend of beauty and strength, with a lot of personality packed into their little bodies. Based on their intelligence, they are the most commonly used bird in the sport of falconry. They are loyal birds that mate for life and are protective of their young.
Red-Tail Hawks are known for their keen vision, which is what makes them such a powerful creature. We at the RedTail Inn like to think along those lines. The RedTail Inn's driving vision is to honor the grace and beauty of its namesake as well as operate in a manner that preserves the environment and allow for harmony in our community and the nature that surrounds us to remain.
